Guarding your words

I just have to give a high five to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for putting the tabloids and press on notice. It seems responsible journalists take the easy way out and just blurt out as well. It does not matter to me where you get unverified information. The first rule of great journalists is to check your sources, after all your reputation is on the line. That is why I am giving all so called journalist, gossip mongers etc the kitty poop award, yep that is right a good old ripe one right from Sir Parker himself. Whew if you know what I mean. This is definitely a day for the books.

What really saddens me in this is the many people out there that read the tabloids and hang on every word...well they are quite possibly the same one who think that all the characters they see on T.V. are real too.

Celebrities are no different than anyone else their jobs are to entertain us. There are those that feel they have a right to know all the details of their private lives. Wrong, when they are on the red carpet, at a celebrity gathering or on a set and etc. then by all means. But when they are out with their family shopping or in the park show then the respect that you would want when you are out on similar outings. Would you really want that snooping neighbor or your boss in your business all the time.

At the expense of the children, seniors and disabled

Why is it that any state in USA would even contemplate taking away benefits from the groups that are not in a position to fully defend themselves. Children, seniors and the disabled should be our highest priority. How is it that we expect them to be the ones living in poverty or worse living on the streets. While we have prisons that are housing illegal aliens and resident aliens who have violated the laws. Once they are convicted they are subject to deportation. Instead of tax dollars being used to house them and feed, clothe and provide medical care for them we need to deport them immediately. Instead of transporting them to prison transport them to the border or put them on a plane to their home country. Then place them on the no fly list so they cannot come back unless they do it the right way. Those that are felons are baned for good. I know what it feels like to have a family member deported. But the bottom line is he was here illegally. He was sent home to Canada and my sister joined him. That is the law. I still believe this to be the way to do this. If anyone wants to come here do it the right way and obey the laws while you are here. Those that come here illegally do impact our country. They commit fraud when they obtain false documents for the purpose of working etc. This can and does create problems for the person whose social security number is being used. It could cause them to be billed for failing to pay taxes on the extra income they are not aware of. Some of them also get a fake drivers license and are driving on our streets. They also congest apartments with multiple occupants that are meant for 1-3 people but they have 8-10 sleeping on floors etc. this impacts the owner of the building as there is excessive water use that gets passed on to the other tenants in the building. They also cause wages to drop in many job areas including construction, janitorial department stores and security jobs as well as restaurants and many more. There are many wealthy people that hire them as well to clean houses, cook and care for their children as well as grounds maintenance etc. This directly causes the pay for these jobs to drop. This is a travesty as they are being exploited by the people who hire them.

DADT and the military

DADT is needing a wake up call. It is a simple process to implement the acceptance of gays in the military. The arguments being used against gays in the military is the same one that was used to prevent women from serving, then to keep women from serving in combat. The military was not reportedly an environment for women. News flash people they serve very valiantly in all branches. I know as I was one. During the time when I served woman were only permitted to be on military bases or hospital ships. Now look at us. So ladies and gentlemen it is time for the United States of America to truly apply the U.S.Constitution to all citizens equally in all states governed by it. Discrimination can no longer be tolerated in the name of religion as this country is supposed to be inclusive of the right to religious freedom as well. It is time for all of the elected people and those who are appointed to put all people above their personal beliefs. Please don't forget to make sure that any military person who was discharged under DADT is asked if they would like to be re-instated to their previous position. This too is the right thing to do. Then there needs to be a directive that no state constitution can undermine the U.S. Constitution. They can extend more rights but not less.

Imagine if you will that if this country could truly show the world that we are not only a Democratic society but as a truly equal one as well.

We have seen what happens when a particular religion dictates the direction a country is going. That being Iraq. Isn't it about time to stop the religious wars.

Just get it done now. Then get on with creating hundreds of thousands of jobs immediately.
